About Us
Founded by Susan Chalmers-Gauvin, CEO, and Artistic Director Igor Dobrovolskiy, Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada presents a diverse collection of original full-length narrative ballets which explore contemporary themes within the classical genre. Each of our ballets is conceived and choreographed by Mr. Dobrovolskiy. The Company presents a new original full-length production each season.
Igor Dobrovolskiy creates original ballet-theatre that fuses color, energy and drama with choreography of high artistic calibre. His ideals drive our Company and inspire each of our dancers. The Company makes its home in Moncton, New Brunswick on Canada's East Coast, a region rich in history and culture. The artists of the Company are classically-trained soloists from Canada and around the world.
Touring the World
Since its inaugural World Premiere in May, 2002, Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada has been a touring company. The Company serves the four eastern provinces of Canada: New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador. An acclaimed cultural ambassador for its home region, Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada also tours nationally and internationally. The Company has become known for the professional standard of its productions and the powerful performances of its dancers.
